Luxury Remodels

Keep what is worth keeping
A good remodel is as much about restraint as demolition. We start by working out what already works — the proportions of a room, a run of original windows, the way the light falls in the afternoon — and design the new work around it. The result reads as one house, not an old one with a newer one bolted on.
Structure, systems and light
Behind the finishes, a whole-house remodel is a chance to reset what you never see: foundations and framing brought up to code, mechanical and electrical replaced, and insulation and glazing that improve comfort and reduce energy use. We open walls once, do that work properly, and close them.
Living in it, or out of it
We remodel occupied and vacant houses. When a family stays in place, we phase the work, contain the dust and plan utility shutoffs in advance. If the scope makes staying in the house impractical, we say so before construction begins.
Related work
Many remodels grow a new wing or a second story — see Additions — and almost all of them touch the kitchen.
